We're clearing out dye tests and end of batch yarns! These yarns are the same wonderful quality as all of our Four Corners products--they are discounted either because they were dye tests, end of the mill batch, or colors that are being reformulated. :)
After our summer break the shop will reopen in full in late August, 2022 with full stock of our High Desert 2 line including our new DK HD2!
Alamosa is comprised of 100% single-flock Merino raised by Elena Miller-terKuile of Cactus Hill Farm in La Jara, Colorado. Established in 1867 by Hispano settlers, Cactus Hill remains a multi-generational family farm to this very day. The award-winning Merino raised by Cactus Hill exhibits beautiful loft and softness that is the perfect choice for next-to-skin garments and accessories.
The name of this base is inspired by the Alamosa River, which Cactus Hill Farm holds the number one water right to. Protected under a Rio Grande Headwaters Land Trust Conservation Easement and using the acequia water systems hand dug by the family many years ago, Cactus Hill Farm and the Alamosa River tell the story of water rights, finding alternatives to “buy-and-dry” practices, keeping land healthy and productive, and finding ways to benefit the river and its wildlife.
