High Desert Roving: 50/50 Navajo Churro/Merino blend from Indigenous and Rural Shepherds
Introducing High Desert, a 50% Navajo Churro/50% Merino blended roving.
4oz 'pin drafted'
High Desert combines single-flock Navajo Churro, raised by Jay Begay on the Navajo Nation, with single-flock Merino, raised by Elena Miller-terKuile of Cactus Hill Farms in Southern Colorado. Their fibers bring the best of both breeds to this yarn--the loft and softness of Merino and the strength and luster of Navajo Churro, resulting in a hardy yet comfortable yarn perfect for knit, crochet, and weaving.
Produced by a small independent fiber mill. This roving may have a stray bit or two of vm from Jay's and Elena's happy sheep.:)
High Desert Worsted comes in a variety of hand dyed shades, dyed by Andrea Greene. All High Desert products are grown, milled, and dyed in the high deserts of Arizona and Colorado.
Items made with our fibers should be carefully hand washed and laid flat to dry.
